I tried to install Yahoo! Messenger, but stopped because it either 

    a. (default) installed the (unwanted) Yahoo! Toolbar into my IE, or 

    b. (custom) hijacked my default search engine, making Yahoo! my default search engine (it checked the box to do this and would not allow it to be unchecked).

Is there anyway to cleanly install Yahoo! Messenger without their spy/ad/unwanted ware?
