It seems as though the documents are set in a font that is not installed on
your computer. You will need to reinstall the fonts that the documents are
using because they were wiped when you reformatted.

From: "Arthur Barnett" <[log in to unmask]>, on 03/07/2003 5:00 AM:

I recently reformatted my haard drive and began restoring software. I
have two word processors, Wordpro and Word 2002. I first reinstalled
Wordpro and then reinstalled my work files. One of my work files calls
for several different fonts and several different type sizes but none
appeared on the restored work. I could not access any font changes or
size changes because the dropdown menu shows only three lines with the
words "Device Font" on 3 lines of different type sizes.
To make a long story short, Word 2002 shows the same thing.
Thinking this might be originating in the registry I did a search on
"device font" but came up with nothing.
I am puzzled to my wit's end and I am wondering if anyone with more
expertise than I possess, encounted this problem and has a solution.
My thanks for all your help.
Arthur
