I have Win98se, but I imagine you can do this with XP. When you click "Save
as" and your file name appears with BMP as the type, click on the down arrow
to the right and select jpg, etc. from the drop-down menu. You'll probably
get some message about losing some features when you save to a lossey
format, but I just click OK and ignore it. Nothing bad happens.

Subject: [PCSOFT] bitmap only option for saving graphics?

My question involves windows XP. When I try to right click on a graphic to
save it (whether in an e-mail or otherwise) it saves it as a bitmap item
without giving me the choice for JPG for example. Is there a setting I can
change to give me a choice?
Thanks,
Rebecca SonDag
