Jeanine: I had nothing but trouble with I.E. 5.5 on two pentium class
machines both of which run Win98 SE. The only advantage, for me, of 5.5
was the ability to preview printing. The disadvantage was the loss of the
"Do you wish to disconnect" feature after I closed I.E. 5.5. I was never
able to solve that problem despite several reinstalls of 5.5, visits to
Microsoft help sites and even HD formats. I am happily back with I.E. 5.0
and use Netscape for print previews.

Therefore, unless you know about some feature in 5.5 that you "must have",
I recommend that you stick with 5. for now.
