Thank you, Peter, for the reply. I have tried to use Audacity but am unable to discover how to input from the "line in" source to the computer. I have read the help files, but do not understand them.
I get a "grayed out" mixer toolbar and see no way to select the "line in" as a source. I tried "New Project" and all the "inputs" without success. Reckon I'm just missing something, but I don't know what.
I have my MusicMatch CD that I used to install MM, but the required code I used to open the
"line-in" source capability does not work as I am unable to activate it now. So, my MM doesn't work with Vista, and won't "input from line-in" with XP, SP2. I paid for the "updates to come" but that is not available now. Thank you for your information. John

Hi,
Try Audacity, works great, and it's free.

PS, you can still get MusicMatch here:

I have some 33 1/3rpm recordings on vinyl platters and wish to import a copy to my hard drive. I previously used MusicMatch Plus but had a HDD failure and lost it and it is no longer available. Does anyone know of a program that will import using "line-in" (from a turntable and an amplifier) and convert it to MP3, or another digital format? Thank you. John
