Judi, when scanning you need to select OCR (Optical Character Recognition). After scanning it should give you an option as to where to save, i.e. WORD, WORKS, WordPerfect. Whichever word processor you have saved into you should be able to edit. All scanners vary but they should have this option. There are certain characters that OCR does not recognize so proof-read your document.
