How can I determine what is causing a "svchost cannot be found" error dialog to appear at system startup? Running WinXP Home. Have unchecked virtually all startup items thru System Configuration with no success. Reluctant to mess with services, but will if necessary. I suspect some former virus/trojan infestation due to the fact that the dialog box itself is of an old design, something looking like it belongs in Win95, not XP. No existing progs display any operating problems.I just don't want the system to look for this particular instance if svchost. I realize svchost is necessary for other uses. Any help would be appreciated.
