what is the brand of the drive and how big is it,you can type format in
dos and it will but I was the same way and did'nt know what to do so I
played around and used a program sinse the drive was 3.5 gigs I tried
another format that you could partition it in different sizes, I went to
the web site that sells that drive and they have the program to format
that drive, you may want to try that or find another which I don't know
about but its called partition magic and it should format your drive, I
used a seagate brand which did work good on my other drive.
