Many times I made a clean install off wind.98, whenever I thought it was not running smooth anymore.I work with a bootmanager (Bootit Direkt) and have 3 partitions with wind 98.1 for myself,1 for my son, and 1 for burning cd.s..
This week suddenly 2 partions crasht ( son an cd.burning ) with Explorer made a fault etc.and i could not get into the system, not even in safe modus.
But now; I cannot reinstal wind.98 anymore.Each time I trei different mesages, like setup made a decodingfault, a damaged setup file (cab), or Msgsrv32 made a fault, or Regsvr32 made a fault , vnetbios.vxd is missing etc. etc.
I treid evrything,took out de bootmanager, changed motherboards, changed cd-romplayer,took out the sound-card, took out network-card, reparttitioned an old harddrive, treid to install with a wind.98 c
d from a friend ( because I thougt mine was damaged ).
Somethimes I get a install, but then I get messages that there is no entrance
in de registry.The strange thing is that my patition with wind.98 still works.
I did a lot off tests with Sandra Pro, and with a program from Aopen.
All the tests are allright.
Is there somebody who can help me out on this one ?
