Active Desktop is overriding your original destop wallpaper. Turn off
active desktop and I bet that your wallpaper shows up again. If you leave
active desktop on you should be able to go in and reset your wallpaper to
whatever you want.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Wallpaper not appearing
I'm running Windows 98 First Edition. Recently my wallpaper is not showing
up. It defaults to my background color. The wallpaper shows up when first
booting then when my icons show up it reverts to the background color. Can
anyone help me? Frustrated!
