Do you really need to WRITE the directory in alphabetical order?
If so, give us more information/details on why so that we can better
answer your question.

Almost all Operating Systems can display the directory in alphabetical
order without using any additional software.

In DOS type the command:      DIR /ON c:\path  -or-   DIR c:\path |SORT
In WIN 95 use the windows explorer, browse to the folder, and then
click VIEW -- ARRANGE ICONS -- BY NAME.
