from the descriptions you all gave another user, i finally figured out how to have a quick launch area in the bottom tray.  the only missing ingredient is the 'show desktop' icon.  it didn't show up automatically when i checked and created the quick launch taskbar.  i've put my email, browser, and palm icon there, but don't know how to get a 'show desktop' icon there. help!
