I ran into a strange explorer display similar to yours. In my case, it was a
missing dll file that was causing this. The explorer window was pointing to
the system folder because that is where the dll was supposed to be but was
not found by the OS. Check the registry for possible RUN files that are
missing; also check the STARTUP folder.
