Herb,
In OE, click TOOLS -- OPTIONS -- GENERAL (tab)
at the bottom, click the MAKE DEFAULT button.
If this button is greyed out and the text states that OE is already
your default mail handler, then you have a registry corruption
and will need to fix or reinstall IE.
In that case, close everything.
Click START -- SETTINGS -- CONTROL PANEL
Then click the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon.
Now scroll down and click MSIE, next click the ADD/REMOVE
button.
In the dialog box, select REPAIR (or is it fix?) option and click the
button.
If that doesn't work, then you have no other choice but to REINSTALL
(same procedure as above).
