Hi Jim.

>the modem should have a floppy/cd with it with the driver (if not talk to
the vendor), w95 does not have drivers for ALL hardware, particularly newer
stuff.

Unfortunately, the modem did not come with a driver install disk; I have
informed my cousin to locate the driver from the shop as well.

>once you find the disk w/ the driver on it, go to the 'unknown' device
shown which you believe is the modem card. tell it you want to update the
driver. there will be a tab where you tell it you have you OWN disk. insert
it, follow the directions, should work.

Alright , I will try it, but I wonder why it would not run the generic 28.8
driver that comes with Win 95?

>on the matter of the pci, same stuff. the motherboard should come w/ it.
on my motherboard however when i loaded it, things got flakey.

There was an ASUS CD that came with the computer, I will look and see if
their is a "PCI Bridge" driver in there.
>see tom's hardware page.

Could you pass the link of that page to me?

Yes, I found no problems leaving the PCI bridge as is, but I would like to
see it out of the unknown device listing to see if it does benefit the
system ...
