Use find to locate "cookies.txt" file(s). Select and right click on the
file. Check box marked "read only." Result= Browser accepts cookies,
server is happy, computer rejects cookie. Site you're on with keeps
laying cookies on you, but none of them stick. Cost=$0, disk space=0.
Win-win!! Despite the fact that I use only Netscape, I'm forced by
Win98 to have IE on my box. It isn't the only one that demands it.
Money, Quicken, and MGI Photo Suite (slowest running graphics program in
the history of computers) among others. Somehow, Windoze "temporary
internet files" is not only monitoring where I go on Netscape, it also
accepts occasional cookies. I have just converted that one to "read
only" also. I never understood why webmasters are so interested in my
humdrum life!!
