I haven't burned anything on Windows in over a decade, but since I've not
seen anyone else reply, I thought I'd try offering help anyway. Some Linux
distros can be installed to a USB device. If you have no freespace on your
HD, or none you want to use for a "permanent" Linux installation, and only
one OM device, you could try a USB Linux boot and try the burning software
that comes free in all the most popular Linux distros. That could tell
whether the problem is in the hardware, or in Nero.

Then again, you might have had a couple of bad batches of DL blanks.

A quick Google seems to indicate the DVD8631 to be problematic, which maybe a
firmware update would fix.
