Hi,
It sort of depends upon what you mean by the second modem's usage. Do you
mean to bridge the two modems, or piggyback them, so as to receive your
files quicker? If so, then somebody else can chime in, the only thing I
know is what I've seen advertised.
As far as just adding a second modem goes, it's simple, just go about adding
the modem in the traditional way, whether it's plug and play or not....I
have upgraded several systems with a new modem and left the old one in for
various reasons, namely the modem was integrated into one card with
soundcard or something like that, ?? Packard Bells? I think they were.
Shut off the system, add in the new modem, power-up, windows should detect
it, load drivers, check for conflicts via Device Manager, then away you go.
When you go to setup a new connection, you can specify which modem to use.
The only other issue would be the phone lines for using both modems for
different connections? A splitter may work for a cheap way out.
