If, when you do the paste function,  choose "paste special" then "unformatted 
text" you'll get the text without all  the formatting from the web page. 
That's what I  do.

In the file menu for IE, click "Save As" and change the file type  to
text. Be aware that this can result in difficult reading, as all  the
formatting is lost.

You might do just as well to copy the text you want directly off  the
page and paste it into a new document in your word processing  program.
