i have the same problem... ignore it...!
the problem only occurs when i use dial-up netowrking to connect to the
net...!
when using winsock no probs at all!!!

i repeat.. ignore the problem, just shut off the machine when the shutting
down screen appears and hard disk axes ceases... u wont even get a start-up
warning that ur comp wasnt shut down properly.. ;-)

<IMPORTANT>  wait for hard disk activity to stop b4 turning the power
off...! <IMPORTANT>
