Disclaimer: I never used ANY software or installation programs any
ISP ever provided to me. I liked making the connection settings myself...

That said, IIRC, my ISP always had me delete the DUN connection for
their service, and re-do it from scratch... That always fixed the connection
for me...
Later, after I got better at it, I found slightly less "invasive" way to
correct the problem, but for most purposes, the first method is fine,
and a lot less technical (easier)...

An ISP should always help with the first version...
