Your right, that's the default size. However, you can force the size you like
when you format. For example, C:\>format c: /s /Z:1, or Z:2, or Z:3. Z:1 will
give you 512K clusters, Z:2 1024K clusters, Z:4 2048K clusters. Since the hard
drive is only 1.33GB I initially set the cluster size to 2048K but then decided
I needed more space so I set it at 512K and that turned out to be too small for
the drive, defrag never finished and the performance was not all that great. I
then set it at 1024K and that seems to be working nicely. I have a 640MB hard
drive and that one I set to 512K and it works good and I can squeeze a lot out
of it.
BTW, I set the swap file on my laptop to 100MB, too soon for results yet.
