Hello Jim!
Thank you for your clarifications, especially about the DLLs (duh! to
me). I would like to start a discussion about the boot process,
however. From what I understand (and such is NOT perfect), Win95
doesn't really start to load until all the real mode files have been
loaded up to and including autoexec.bat. I notice in the logo screen
situation that my logo screen doesn't "black out" until much later in
the process. I don't know why (and why then). I agree that the
bootlog.txt file does not start recording until after config.sys and
autoexec.bat are done.
On my laptop, the logo screen does not appear until after autoexec.bat
does its thing.
I'm sorry for any confusion my earlier remarks may have caused (and
any these might cause too)
