It sounds like when you installed IE5, you didn't install the Microsoft
Virtual Machine, which if memory serves me correctly, provides Java
services to IE5.  To install it, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
in IE5, click on Product Updates, and you can choose Microsoft Virtual
Machine in there, along with anything else you want, and choose Download at
the top of that frame, and just follow the directions.
