Lately I've been fooling about with better quality graphics cards, and the benchmarking programs which test the speed of such cards.
The Quake3 demo is excellent and is easy to set up and run. It enables a very quick comparison between card\system combinations. But I'm having a problem with a new one - 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein MultiPlayer Test2'.
The 55mb file downloaded and installed OK but it doesn't seem inclined to run the benchmark. These are the commands I'm entering from the GUI:
~ enter (that's tilde, enter, which seems to be the common method of starting these timedemos)
timedemo 1 enter
demo atdemo6 enter
I'm pretty sure that last line is wrong, but I've tried several variations without success. Heck, I'm not even sure that this particular file HAS a built-in timedemo. There was apparently an earlier version called 'Checkpoint' but that one seems to be unobtainable now.
Perhaps there's a GFX guru out there who might have some answers?
