Probably, I started to Google each process that I did not know about. It was
an educating experience. I still Google unfamiliar processes
If they are not necessary or what I want running I go to run/msconfig go to
the Startup tab and deselect items you do not wish to run on startup. Then
restart

I run XP sp3.    When I bring up Windows Task Manager there are 62 processes
listed.   Are all of these processes running.   Are they all necessary.  Can
I delete some of them. Seems like I hear something running in the background
most of the time.   Thanks
