For some strange reason (as in all of a sudden), my folder views in Win98
(1st edition) will no longer "stick", i.e. whenever I open a folder, the
view is always Large Icons.

I have gone into View, Folder Options, View, and have made sure that the box
that says 'remember each folder view settings' (or similar) is indeed
checked. It remains selected, but apparently ignored totally.

I am able to make all folders look the same by selecting the option to make
all folder look like the current one, but that just substitutes one monopoly
for another. I really want to regain my ability to define, and REMEMBER,
individual views for each folder.

The only major thing that has happened to my system lately is that I
upgraded Internet Explorer from version 5.01 to version 5.5. Could this be
responsible in any way?

Ideas anyone?

Michael
