Typically, Win 3.1x isn't as smart as Win 9x OS's and Software. Since
Win 3.1x is DOS based, unless someone wrote the program to check for the
file first before writing it to the HD, it will just go and write the
files to the locations specified (drive and c:\windows and possibly
c:\windows\system directories.)
Note, while this is typically the situation, it really depends on how
thoughtful the software program was written. I really don't think they
were too concerned about overwriting a previous file that far back, but
you never know.
