A friend of mine accidently got his computer into Safe Mode and can not
get out of it and back into Normal Mode.

I told him to reboot and when the black screen comes up offering him a
choice of modes, he should use his arrow keys to select Normal. He does
not get a black screen to select Normal.

Anyone have any ideas?

He has a Gateway and is running Windows XP.
