I hope this is the right list to post to, I'll try to make this short.

I have a 4.2 Gig computer, 64 RAM, 233 computer, Windows 95.

I deleted all the files in Windows Temp and the Temporary Internet Files, per instructions by McAfee because I couldn't get their virus scan on line to work right.

Now, when I turn the computer on, once I put in my password I get a black screen. The only way I can get to the Desktop is to shut down "illegally" and do a cold boot which automatically then does a scandisk and then I get back the Desktop.

Did I somehow delete a file in the Temp files that I need to get the Desktop?

Thanks for any help, I have no idea how to fix this.

Thanks.

Mary Dunlap
