This is my first post, so I will try to make
this as short as possible,
I have a 200 mhz/32 mg EDO/6.4 gig,
partitioned into 3 drives running
Fat 32. I also installed another Hard Drive on
the secondary IDE running
Fat 16, with the hopes of curing some fatal
crashes while playing games
on the Internet, such as Diablo etc. I have
Windows 95 B and also have
Office 97 Professional, along with other
software. To get to the problem
which is, if I insert Office 97 into the
CD-ROM I will get a Diablo Icon
on my G drive"CD-ROM" under the Icon it will
say Office97pro, Office 97
works fine as far as I know, if I uninstall
Diablo and insert Office 97
the Diablo Icon is gone, and it has a normal
Office 97 Icon, that is the
first problem. The second problem is while
both Diablo and Office 97 are
installed, when I go to Start/Programs and
then to Diablo, seconds
before Diablo starts I receive a Fatal
Error"This Program Performed an
illegal operation"
MS office caused invalid page fault in the
module Comctl32.dll:bfef4c6f
and then if I click Close, the Fatal error
goes away and then I receive
a program box to install the CD for Diablo and
click on run or
cancel,and naturally if I hit cancel it goes
away, that is without the
CD installed to run the game"experimenting"
and if the CD is installed I
receive the same error, but the game
overrides? the error's and starts
anyway,but I have crashes while playing the
game. This problem existed
before I tried the second Hard Drive running
Fat 16. I had read that the
Internet games run better under Fat 16, I have
other games installed,
but no problem.? I am at a loss on this
problem. I would appreciate any
advise or ?.
