Hello Hugh

Sorry but I do not understand everything. I opened control panel in Icon view and clocked on Default programs.. After that I'm lost. Abobe does not show up in the list of programs although when I check on the hard drive it is there. after that, how do I assign the PDF extension to the program?
I'm not thick, I just haven't had to bother with this before.

Open Control Panel. set it to icon view.  Open default programs/Set
defaults and assign the pdf extension to Acrobat.

I have downloaded the files okay but when I try to open them Win 7 sends me to Windows Media center and that is where I get stuck.  I have other progrtams on my PC such as Fuji finepix and also Nero 7 Essentials but WMC always kicks in first.
