Mark,

You have to install MSN's software on each computer that you use to
connect to their service.
There is an established national network and you are able to use numbers in
other cities if you are traveling but I believe there is an additional
charge.
I recently switched from MSN to Pacbell, mainly because I was moving to DSL.
I had both on my computer at the same time, didn't encounter any problems
between the two.
One thing I've discovered since being with Pacbell, if an email is
bounced(didn't
make it to the intended recipient) they let you know. MSN has no such
service,
so you don't know if the message made it.
Overall, no major problems encountered with MSN during almost three years.
HTH.
