Yes, several other members pointed out my error over the weekend.
MS does have information on their web site about Unix based extensions,
but the information was hard to locate.
Even with using my MSDN membership, there wasn't a lot of information to
be found.
Eventually I came up with this workshop article:

Never did find any data on FP98 extensions.....
