Not so much a conflict, but you'll suffer a performance hit.
First, both are consuming memory and cpu cycles when running in the background.
Second, as you open each file while you're working, both will try to verify
it against their databases. If all this is going on at the same time, there
is likely to be a clash of priorities. Maybe with dual-core, both
activities could occur at the same time, provided the software is suitably
written. You'd never know. More likely, you'll create a bottleneck
somewhere in the system.
Run Task Manager and see which one takes up the most cpu cycles as you open
several .exe program files at random. Keep that one as the passive unit and
the least invasive one as the active one.
On the other hand, if your system is running perfectly OK and up to speed,
why worry? If it works for you, go for the double protection by all means.
