Maria:
This may be due to the fact that it is an extremely large file, in terms of
megabytes, and the computer is trying to read all the information from it, so
it can display the correct information on the left hand side of the window
(don't know the correct term for this), such as a preview of the first frame
of the movie file, the size, date created, etc.
The easiest way to delete it would be to wait until you no longer hear any of
that Hard Drive activity sound coming from your computer. If it still doesn't
delete after the sound is gone, then make sure any file-sharing applications
such as kazaa or morpheus are closed. If this still does not work, then boot
into safe-mode by continuosly pressing F8, or F12 to bring up the boot-menu,
then boot into Windows safe-mode to delete it.
If none of this works, then you can try using a program such as Norton
WipeInfo, or any sort of program that ensures a file is deleted to delete the
avi file.
Hopefully, I was clear enough in my explanations so that at least one of the
ways to delee the file will work. If not, feel free to e-mail me directly.
