I'm in need of some information and thought maybe you guys/gals could help.
 
Everything I'm looking for either needs to be inexpensive or free.
 
1.  Looking for a program that will allow me to talk and type what I am saying.  Or a program that will allow me to scan handwritten items and convert them to text.  I've tried a couple but they don't seem to recognize cursive writing.  It did work with typed text though.
 
2.  How do you convert music from records/tapes to the computer.  Also, what software would you use to edit these.  Say to cut off dead air at the beginning and end.  And get or increase the quality.
