There's another problem: doing so is extremely rude unless explicitly
invited, and even then an email fetch that includes any large file can

Note that free file sharing as above is not your only option. Apache web
server software is free. As long as you have adequate upload capacity, and as
long as what you intend to share is not illegal, and as long as you're not
using it in a money making operating operation that violates your ISP's
T.O.S., you can host files yourself using Apache, then via email provide
links to your hosted files to your contacts that they can use to download if
they choose to do it at all, and when it is convenient for them to do it.
