: How do I turn off my modem speaker to get rid of dialing, squelch etc. ?
My
: modem speaker volume is set to zero in the control panel modem pallette,
but
: this does not seem to have any effect. Suggestions and comments
appreciated,
: bestregards, John Smallwood

If you are using Dial-up networking check the sessions properties box and
change the speaker setting in the properties box. If this is another
program, use the program modem set-up to change the setting. Each program
and DUN connection control the speaker in addition to the control panel.
Good Luck..
