I found the cause of my problem with Access, but still don't know why this
happens. If Access is started from the Start/Programs menu, no problem.
Double-clicking on an MDB database file in Windows Explorer also works fine.

The problem occurs when Access is started from a command prompt. Open a
command prompt (DOS Window) and start Access. All appears well, but no file
can be opened or saved. No error appears; just that nothing happens!

I will research this further. If anyone has a clue, I will appreciate
feedback.
