You could have too many retained messages. When files are deleted, they
normally end up in the "deleted" folder. As long as you do not want any
of the deleted messages you can empty this folder by right clicking on
it and chose "empty folder".
While you are at it and if you have other folders, you may want to
delete message from those folders that you no longer need. Then empty
the deleted items folder again.
