Hello,
I just used Windows Update to install service pack 3 to my Windows XP
Home edition on my E-machine T3410 and the next two boots after
installing SP3 I've had a windows installer come up and try to install
Windows Live Messenger. Each time it has encountered an unexpected error
which it says may indicate a problem with the package. The error dialog
references error code 2771.
I already have Windows Live Messenger installed on my machine, and I
note that it will not start until I click OK on the above error dialog
for the install package. It normally starts right after boot up. I
wonder if it trying to start is what is causing the problem with the
install?
Thanks for any help you can be.
Later, Ray Parrish
