Hello,
Anyone else have trouble activating Microsoft Reader under Windows XP?

I currently have Microsoft Reader on my work PC (running 98 SE) and my
Compaq IPAC activated, and when I log on to Microsoft's activation site at
work, the system tells me that I still have an activation available (you're
allowed up to 4 devices using a single "Passport"). I thought I had used
up my limit, and was requesting an additional activation.

When I try to log on to Microsoft's activation screen on my new laptop
running Windows XP Home, the sign on screen just keeps coming back, not
logging me on, no error message, no activation.

One error site told me to delete a cookie file called
"user.cookie.passport", which I found and did. No effect.

I'm frustrated because without activating, you cannot buy ebooks from sites
like Amazon. They won't download unless your Microsoft Reader is
"activated".

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

Larry.
