I have 64mb of ram and I haven't really added much new sodftware.

We would need a lot more info than that. Just telling us that you have 64Mb
of Ram doesn't give anyone a lot to go on. What operating system are you
using? How many programs do you have running when Windows loads? What error
messages, if any, are you getting?
