For several years I have maintained a Wordpad file containing copy/paste
information from a popup window on my bank's website. (this is an example -
the same thing is happening at other websites also) The data copied was the
front and back images of my canceled check and a bit of text (date, number,
amount, for easy reading). This no longer works. Apparently website images
are no longer put into the clipboard.
Does anyone know WHEN Microsoft did this? Or if there is a way around it? Is
there a clipboard.exe -type file that could be copied from an older version?
The popup window is too small to view the text and check images all at one
time and the window is not resizable, so using screen copy or a "clipper"
type utility won't work because you can only copy what is visible with
those.
This is an example, the same thing happens on other websites.
Apparently Word now puts "links" in your Word documents instead of the
images themselves, so that if you want to view your document WITH its
images, you have to be connected to the internet and allow word to access
the internet again to retrieve the images from there - assuming of course
that they are still there where the link is pointing.
If I ever get this working right again, I will never download/update
anything else from Microsoft. You are just as likely to get a bad change as
a good one, or have a feature that you use disabled with no warning.
This was one of the main things I used my computer for and now it doesn't
work any longer. Does anyone have any ideas about how this functionality
could be restored?
Thanks,
Ann Fennell
