Hello, All,

I'm having a problem with the most recent critical update that deals with
the issue of jpeg files possibly affecting certain graphics programs
(though none were said to be on my computer when I ran a more thorough test
at the MS website). I am running Win 98SE.

I had a crash during the original update, and, ever since, it keeps
notifying me on an annoyingly regular basis that there is a critical update
for my computer. I keep seeing the same patch that has supposedly been
installed, and when I begin the procedure once again (I "open" rather than
"save" MS patches), it skips though very quickly (because the patch has
been previously downloaded) and says the installation is "complete" - again.

There is supposed to be a way to uninstall this update, yet it does not
appear in the Add/Remove list of programs at all. I'm not sure how to
resolve this, or if the next update will clear away the problem. If any of
you have encountered the same thing, I'd appreciate knowing how you
resolved it.

Regards, Kent Jacobson
