Ah, yess, the dreaded Word font feature bit someone else.
My experience is:
If you don't grab the "invisible" end-of-paragraph marker and move it with
the text, your font will change to match the size/weight/face/attributes of
the eop marker in front of which you drop the text.
If you grab the eop marker, the fonts stay the same -- except:
I've had situations where I drop text to new documents and have them
reformat into something other than the default style in Normal.Dot.
And, if a paragraph has EVER had small caps turned on, no matter it's been
since turned off, any text dropped into it will ALWAYS be small caps.
I do not have a solution. Microsoft does not have a solution -- the answer
I got was: "gee, I think we're supposed to do that to show your document is
corrupted and you should delete it ..."
