Sounds like the game has changed your default font, and hasn't restored it
upon closure.

Right click on your desktop, select Properties, click Appearance, then Advance.

Under the line marked "item" scroll down to "icon" and then select
whichever font you want as default.

Very non-intuitive, I'm afraid, (who'd expect font settings to be under
"icon", it fools everybody) but then, I didn't design XP.

Don't forget to OK and Apply your way out to make it stick.

For readers who haven't explored this little treasure trove of settings,
you can spend a happy wet day in there, changing colors etc for all your
window settings, fonts, menu items, and all the other goodies. Well worth a
dabble. You can see the effect of most changes as you make them in the
little demo window above.

While there, one change I always make on any new computer is to scroll to
"Active Title Bar" and set the size to about 26. It makes it so much easier
to click in that little x to close or minimise a window. Beginners
especially appreciate this, or those who have difficulty mousing.

Another useful change is to set the background color for windows to
something a little more subdued than the standard glaring white. When
selecting colors, click the "other" button at the bottom of the color chart
for more variety.

Sure, some of these settings may use a miniscule more memory than the
standard settings. But I've never found that a problem. You might want to
think twice if, say, you were running XP on 32Mb RAM.
