A student of mine brought her computer to me to look at. It's Windows ME.
When booting up and getting into Windows, the desktop icons, Start button,
taskbar, all are not there. I did Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the dialog box shows
nothing...not even Explorer.

She doesn't know what happened or who did what to cause this.  Anyone have
any ideas on how to fix this?  I'm at a loss, short of reinstalling. But, I
would think there is something I could do.  Like maybe a corrupt file?
