The .lnk extension is a short cut. I've seen what you are talking about -
all menu items show the same icon, and the same ".lnk" extension, but
nothing works. My best guess would be to run TweakUI.exe from the control
panel, (if you can access it) and click the "Repair" tab. From there you can
try "Rebuild Icons , Repair System files, and Repair Regedit". I don't know
if this will work, but it shouldn't cause any harm. If her system does not
include TweakUI, you can download Win95 Power Toys - which includes TweakUI,
from:
